Diagnostic exercise - creating an encyclopaedia entry

Write an entry of no more than 250 words to provide a definition of qualitative or quantitative research and how this fits in with the current role of information professionals. You may use evidence from articles found in the LIS Journal section of the AIR blog (http://ilit.blogspot.com/).

Look at the examples posted below (are these good or poor examples and why?)

Email your entry to one of the AIR tutors for comments. The entry must be written in your own words and any direct or indirect quotes should be referenced using the brief reference guide found on the AIR page. NB the best entry will be posted anonymously on the ilit.org blog.

The entry must be submitted by week 3.
